Kenyan Alwyn Tera won the Georgian Super Cup with FC Saburtalo after seeing off Dynamo Tsiblisi 1-0 in the finals staged at the Mikheil Meskhis Sakhelobis Stadium on Sunday 23 February.
Tera who was returning from injury played the entire game with Giorgi Kokhreidze scoring the all-important goal in the 14th minute via a penalty.
Saburtalo has been involved in some serious pre-season friendlies where they took Russia giants Zenit-a game they lost 4-0-and Alcoyano in which they recorded a 3-1 win.
Saburtalo now has won three Georgian titles in the past three years with 2018 ending with the league title, 2019 with the Georgian Cup and 202 starting with the Georgian Super Cup.
Attention for Saburtalo now shifts to the league where they are slated to open the season with a home tie against Chikhura on Sunday 1 March.
Last season, Tera managed a total of 22 games for Saburtalo where he received seven yellow cards in his defensive midfield role.
Tera was part of the Kenya U23 that was eliminated by their Sudanese counterparts in the 2020 Olympic Qualifiers and will hope that his stint at Georgia lands him a place in the Harambee Stars team ahead of their qualifiers against Comoros slated for next month.
