Sergio Ramos equals another European record

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos on Wednesday received an incredible 26th red of his career as Los Blancos lost 2-1 to Manchester City in UEFA Champions League last-16 tie in Madrid.

Ramos received his marching orders late in second after hacking down Gabriel Jesus on the edge of the penalty box.

The Spanish defender's 26th red card was interestingly his fourth in the Champions League over a span of almost 15 years. Ramos joined the eccentric Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edgar Davids on a record four red cards in the European club football.

The 33-year-old will miss the second leg of the last-16 tie, which City lead after Jesus cancelled out Isco's opener and Kevin De Bruyne converted an 83rd-minute penalty.
