Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has given an update on the trio of Jordan Henderson, James Milner and Xherdan Shaqiri ahead of their weekend clash against Watford.
Henderson sustained a hamstring injury during The Reds last week’s Champions League tie with Atletico Madrid with Milner missing the club’s Monday win over West Ham United with a slight muscle strain.
Shaqiri has been sidelined since mid-January due to a calf complaint with the player already attracting interest from teams in Italy after claims emerged that he was looking for more playing time.
Speaking on his Friday presser, Klopp said: “(They are) all coming closer, much closer.
“Hendo (Henderson) is running, Millie (Milner) is running and even more. It was not enough for this game now, but we will see-especially with Millie-what we can do for Tuesday. I’m not sure about Hendo, and Shaq not yet, but they are all coming closer.”
The trio will remain absent from Saturday’s trip to Watford with Liverpool at the top of the league; 22 points above second-placed Manchester City.
Watford is looking to get out of the relegation zone with the Hornets currently placed 19th on the log with 24 points; the team yet to win any of their last five games.
