Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has announced a three-nation tournament as part of Uganda Cranes preparations for the 2020 African Nations Championship set for Cameroon in April.
Hosts Uganda will welcome Mali and Zambia as the three teams polish their systems ahead of the tournament set to run from April 4 to 25 in three Cameroonian cities of Yaounde, Douala and Lime.
Zambia is currently coached by Micho, who has previously been the head coach for Uganda Cranes and Rwanda.
Cranes coach Jonathan McKinstry wants to use the tournament to drill down his final squad after naming a 34-man provisional squad on Thursday.
“We shall host Zambia and Mali in a three-nation tournament kicking off on 17th to 21st March 2020. The tournament is a perfect test for the team given the other opponents in group C (Togo, Morocco and Rwanda)” McKinstry stated.
The training according to McKinstry will start officially on Monday at GEMS Cambridge, Butabika.
