CAF CL: Moroccan side Raja raise security concerns ahead of Lubumbashi trip

Moroccan side Raja Casablanca has expressed concerns over the security situation in the Congolese city of Lubumbashi ahead of their CAF Champions League quarterfinal return leg against TP Mazembe.

Raja are in control of the tie after Ben Malango and Badr Banoune gave them a 2-0 advantage in the first leg played at Mohamed V Complex in Casablanca.

According to reports in Moroccan media, Raja have decided to include their own security agents on their trip to the eastern mining city as they deem that local security cannot guarantee their safety while in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The Moroccans are also not confident with the local food situation in the Central African nation and will carry their own food as well as a dedicated chef to prepare their meals while on tour.

Raja's 2-0 victory in Casablanca was tainted by racism claims after a section of their fans posted a racist caricature on Facebook. The caricature had an image of a primate clad in Wydad Casablancajersey with a TP Mazembe crest.

Wydad fans were supporting TP Mazembe against their fierce archrivals in the match.
