Arrows dented Pirates’ Absa Premiership title ambitions after a tight goalless draw in Durban today.
Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer made two full-back changes with Paseka Mako and Abel Mabaso for Innocent Maela and Mthokozisi Dube.
Bucs nearly found the opener after Vincent Pule's free-kick was steered away by goalkeeper Sifiso Mlungwana on 11 minutes.
It was a deep defensive output from the home side as Pirates keeper Wayne Sandilands became a spectator for much of the opening 45 minutes.
The early second half almost came with a Knox Mutizwa opener but his shot was well defended by Happy Jele. Pirates created more dominant play but showed nothing to open up Arrows sturdy defense.
The final five minutes brought big controversy as Arrows attacker Seth Parusnath appeared to have been fouled by Ntsikelelo Nyauza but the referee said no penalty.
The game ended with no goals leaving Pirates on third spot with seven points behind leaders Kaizer Chiefs and two games ahead.
