CAF has maintained that Zimbabwe will play their 2021 African Nations Cup qualifiers in a neutral venue as they lack grounds that meet international standards.
The African body was reacting to reports that COSAFA had intervened to help Zimbabwe get temporary reprieve so as to host Algeria in Harare.
A ZIFA source told Zimlive.com that CAF dismissed their appeal without even giving them a hearing.
"CAF did not receive or even respond to the call from ZIFA but reminded the federation to identify neutral venue as advised earlier. The appeal was dismissed straight away, " the source said.
The Zimbabwe Minister of Sports had earlier last week said that the government was working on getting grounds ready for the March 20 face-off with Algeria. He said that Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo is undergoing intensive renovation and will be ready to host the qualifier.
