Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira has revealed manager Mikel Arteta has spoken to the team for the first time since he tested positive for Coronavirus.
The Spaniard tested positive on Thursday, forcing the whole team to go into self-quarantine, with the Premier League suspended as well.
And after the Spaniard's wife Lorena Bernal said he was feeling much better, the Uruguayan has revealed he made contact with the players and is in good shape.
"The truth is that we didn't expect this virus to reach the club, the locker room," he told Radio Sport 890.
“Mikel Arteta is better. He was able to communicate with us and he is improving.
"In recent days, many cases of coronavirus were discovered in London and people were nervous. In some supermarkets, you can no longer find toilet paper or gel alcohol," he added.
The midfielder is out with an injury but is working hard to be ready when the season resumes.
"I'm quarantined at home and am working on my own in recovery," he continued.
"I'm happy because the exams were good. I'm still wearing the orthopedic boot. In eight or ten weeks I will be able to work normally.
"It's difficult for the family to be away. Today I would have to be traveling to Uruguay, but all the flights were canceled due to the coronavirus," he went on.
Europe's top five leagues and all UEFA Competitions were suspended following the outbreak of the virus, which has continued to eat into countries across the world.
Italy and Spain are the most-hit countries in Europe, with the former on lockdown.
