Premier League side Manchester United has triggered the one-year option in Nemanja Matic's contract with discussion set to start over a new deal.
Matic had entered the last four months of his contract but the Red Devils have tied him at the Old Trafford until the summer of 2021. The former Chelsea man has re-established himself as a key Manchester United player over the past few weeks.
"We have agreed with him so he will stay, 100 percent," Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said earlier this month.
The 31-year-old has started nine of the last 10 Premier League games and only missed the goalless draw with Wolves due to a one-match suspension.
