Saudi Arabia's Al-Ettifaq vice president tests positive for Covid-19

The vice president of Saudi Arabia's Al Ettifaq Hatem El-Meshel has tested positive for the coronavirus.

The coronavirus has swept the world infecting almost 335,000 people and killing at least 14,600. Saudi Arabia has 511 Covid-19 cases and registered 119 fresh infections on Sunday.

El-Meshel broke the news on Twitter saying that he is proceeding to 14-day isolation.

“I’ve been diagnosed with the coronavirus and I was in healthy isolation at home away from public gatherings. I will now spend 14 days in isolation at the medical complex in Dammam,” El-Meshel said.

It’s worth mentioning that the Saudi Arabian Football Federation had already suspended their league until further notice last week.

Al-Ettifaq are currently tenth in the Saudi Pro League standings with 29 points after 22 games.
