Congolese striker Dieumerci might be leaving Belgian side Antwerp FC at the end of the season as a move to Uzbekistan top side Pakthakor Tashkent FK becomes imminent.
The Uzbek club had initially tabled an offer for the 34-year-old striker in December last year but Antwerp rejected the approach. However, Pakthakor Tashkent FK has returned with an improved offer and they might get Mbokani on a free transfer as his contract ends in June.
Mbokani is currently the leading goalscorer in Belgian First Division with 18 goals. Antwerp are perched in the fourth position in the league table with 53 points after 29 matches. Football in Belgium has been suspended due to the coronavirus.
It remains to be seen whether the Congolese striker will agree to join the Uzbekistan champions in summer.
Mbokani has previously played for TP Mazembe, Anderlecht, Wolfsburg, Monaco, Standard Liège, Norwich City, Hull City and Dynamo Kyiv.
He has represented DR Congo 41 times scoring 18 goals and has played at the Africa Cup of Nations in 2013 and 2015, helping them to third place at the latter tournament.
