Kagera Sugar head coach Mecky Mexime has claimed that Yanga SC was interested in his services but he turned down the offer after they failed to agree on certain terms.
At the same time the former Taifa Stars defender said that coaching top sides such as Azam, Simba and Yanga is an easier role compared to handling midtable clubs.
It is understood that Yanga SC president Dr Mshindo Msolla is a big fan of the former international since his playing days at Tanzania Premier League side Mtibwa Sugar.
The 43-year-old had been approached late last year to deputise Belgian tactician Luc Eymael as Yanga embarked on constituting a new technical bench after the departure of Mwinyi Zahera.
Mexime declined the offer and forced Dr Msolla to name Charles Boniface Mkwasa as Eymael's assistant. Mkwasa had been earmarked for the technical director role at the club.
The former national team skipper started his coaching career at his boyhood club Mtibwa Sugar.
