Coronavirus: Nigerian vice-president tests negative

Nigerian Special Adviser Senator Babafemi Ojudu has confirmed that vice-president Yemi Osinbajo has tested negative to Coronavirus. 

Osinbajo's spokesman Ojudu revealed the news on Wednesday however he did not say when the test was conducted. The 59-year-old confirmed the news via his Twitter account after he received a number of calls regarding Osinbajo's health. 

"Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo tests negative," his post read.

"Good morning sirs and ma: (I) have been inundated with calls on whether indeed the VP had undergone a COVID-19 test and the outcome. Yes, he has and results negative. An official tweet would follow. Thanks," he clarified. 

The vice-president went on self-isolation on Monday night, following reports that the Chief of Staff to the President, Mr. Abba Kyari, had tested positive to coronavirus. According to reports, Osinbajo did not come to work at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Tuesday 24th.
