Erling Haaland's father has revealed why his son rejected a move to Premier League side Manchester United.
Haaland signed for Borussia Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg during the January transfer window, putting pen to paper until the summer of 2024. United were leading the chase for the Norwegian who seemed to be heading to Old Trafford only for him to join the Bundesliga club.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, Haaland's father suggested his son turned down a move to United due to concerns over Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's future at the club.
"It’s dangerous to just sign for a coach because he can suddenly be sacked," he said.
Since his switch to the Bundesliga, the 19-year-old has netted 12 goals in 12 appearances for Lucien Favre's men.
