Middlesbrough defender Daniel Ayala has reportedly expressed his desire to join Leeds United in a bid to play under current manager Marcelo Bielsa.
According to Daily Star, Leeds are in contention to make a move for Ayala and it is believed that he is a top transfer target for Bielsa.
The report further claims that Leeds have picked Ayala as they believe he could bring more depth and experience to the squad.
The 29-year-old has an impressive track in the Championship having played for Hull City, Derby County, Norwich City and Nottingham Forest before making his way to his current club Middlesbrough.
It is believed that the Spaniard would add strength to Leeds' backline with his commanding style of play and the side needs to invest in a centre-back of his calibre if they are to improve their fortune.
