🇨🇩 English Premiership sides in race for Congolese star's signature

English Premier League clubs have reportedly stepped up their interest in Congolese star Christian Luyindama.

The Democratic Republic of Congo international is currently plying his trade at Turkish side Galatasaray.

It is understood that Everton are leading the chase for the defender's signature. The Toffees will face competition from West Ham and Crystal Palace.

Luyindama began his career at Congolese side DCMP then later joined TP Mazembe with whom he won the 2016 CAF Confederation Cup.

On 31 January 2017, he joined Standard Liège on loan with an option given to the club to sign him permanently. The move was made permanent on 18 May 2017.

In March 2018, he played as Standard Liège beat Genk 1–0 in extra time to win the 2018 Belgian Cup Final and qualify for the UEFA Europa League.

In January 2019, he made a deadline day move to Süper Lig side Galatasaray on loan until the end of the season. The deal included an option to make the move permanent.

The 11-cap international made his international debut for the DR Congo national football team in a 2–0 friendly win over Botswana on 5 June 2017.
