English Premier League side Aston Villa will punish Jack Grealish after he was caught flouting government lockdown guidelines.
Images appeared of the Villa captain at a scene of a car crash in Dickens Heath on Sunday morning, despite England being under lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.
He was seen at around 8 am, wearing a blue hoodie and sliders stood on the pavement alongside an unidentified member of the public.
The club announced that Grealish will be fined with h the proceeds going to The University Hospitals Charity in Birmingham.
A Villa statement read: "Aston Villa is deeply disappointed that one of our players ignored the Government’s guidance on staying at home during the Coronavirus crisis.
"Club Captain Jack Grealish has accepted that his decision to leave his house was wrong and entirely unnecessary. It breached the government guidelines which are clear and should be adhered to by everybody.
"The player will be disciplined and fined with the proceeds donated to The University Hospitals Charity in Birmingham."
Grealish apologised for his actions in a video released on his Twitter account on Monday, saying he is "deeply embarrassed" - you can watch it at the top of the page.
