Rwanda Premier League clubs are staring at a crisis as a number of players will be out of contracts by May 31 despite the suspension of football activities in the country.
Over 50 players from a number of clubs will have their contract run out automatically by May 31 triggering a crisis as the return dates of football activities is not yet known.
Rwanda transfer window is normally open until July 4th when Peace Cu finals are played but the majority of player sign contracts running up to May 31, when the league ends.
Among the players that will be out of contract in June include Rayon Sports stars Radu Irankunda, Frabrice Mugheni, Ally Niyonzima and Michael Sarpong.
Rwanda's Time Sport reports that Rwanda FA (Ferwafa) has written to both CAF and FIFA to allow short term contracts to allow free agent players to play for their clubs after the expiry of their contracts.
Clubs that have players staring at contract elapsing include Rayon (6), Mukura (6), Kiyovu (7), Police (9), Muhanga (10), Etincelles (9), Musanze (7), Sunrise (5) and Gicumbi (4).
