Premier League leaders Liverpool have led other clubs in sending condolence messages to Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, who lost his mother on Monday to Coronavirus.
The manager's mother, Dolors Sala Carrio, passed on aged 82 as a result of the deadly virus that has already claimed the lives of 70,000 globally.
City took to Twitter to pass the message of the untimely death of the Pep's mother before other clubs followed suit.
The Manchester City family are devastated to report the death today of Pep’s mother Dolors Sala Carrió in Manresa, Barcelona after contracting Corona Virus. She was 82-years-old .— Manchester City (@ManCity) April 6, 2020
Liverpool, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona were some of the clubs that sent their messages;

City rivals Man United sent the following message;
"Everyone at Manchester United is saddened to hear this terrible news. We send our heartfelt condolences to Pep and his family. #ACityUnited,"
Former Guardiola's employers Bayern Munich too joined in with a passionate message.

Pep's other former employers in Barcelona, the city in which Dolors passed on, too sent their message.
