The ex-Real Madrid & Man United man has taken a pay cut at Juventus but will still reach the billion-dollar mark at the end of this year if the projections by Forbes are accurate.
We reported this story yesterday with Ronaldo set to become only the third active athlete to hit $1 billion in career earnings, following in the footsteps of Tiger Woods and Floyd Mayweather.
Forbes' rich list for the decade 2010-2019 placed Ronaldo 2nd with earnings estimated at $800 million, owing largely to his massive Facebook and Instagram followings which benefit his endorsement partners. Only Floyd Mayweather earned more than him in the decade, with a staggering $915 million. Tiger Woods was sixth in earnings for the period 2010-2019 with $615 million. Remember, however, that Woods' career earnings hit the $1 billion mark in 2009. Only Mayweather and Woods have earned more than Ronaldo out of any active athletes in the world.
