Rwanda international Djihad Bizimana is a free agent and looking for a new club, Rwandan media reports.
According to Times Sport, the defensive midfielder is currently contracted to Belgian first division side Waasland Beveren for another year but is seeking new challenges after the club was relegated to the second division after finishing last in this year's league.
“My agent has offers from a number of clubs but I have to wait to see what my priorities are. I can’t reveal much right now but I’m sure a deal will be finalized and I will tell you if everything goes through," Bizimana admitted.
The 23-year-old signed a three year deal with the Belgian side in 2018 after joining from APR. He had also played for Rayon Sports and Etincelles in Rwanda.
“It would be difficult for me to play in the second division with the offers before me. Also, a new club will be good stepping stone for reviving my career.”
“The talks with other clubs are promising but I will not talk about those teams before things are sorted out, I have to wait until we finalise everything but I don’t see myself playing for this club next season.”
Bizimana is a youth product of Etincelles since the age of 15 and began his career with Rayon.
On 26 April 2018, Bizimana joined Waasland-Beveren from the Rwandan club APR. He made his professional debut for Waasland-Beveren in a 2-2 Belgian First Division A tie with S.V. Zulte Waregem on 28 July 2018.
