English Premier League side Manchester City have signed Peruvian young defender Kluiverth Aguilar from Alianza Lima.
The 16-year-old defender will remain with Alianza Lima to continue his development but will join City when he turns 18 on May 5, 2021.
The club noted in a statement: “Alianza Lima also told their supporters.
“Within its policy of signing players with great potential, Manchester City saw in Kluiverth Aguilar a talent capable of playing at the highest level.
“Alianza Lima is proud that a footballer from its team can link his future to that of one of the most prestigious clubs in the world.”
On his part, the player said of his move: “Going to City is something big in my career. I’m happy they have signed me.
“It is a club with players, a coach and fans that are all extraordinary. My goal is to become an outstanding player in the first team.
“I am glad that the possibility of moving to Europe presented itself to me while I am an Alianza player.”
Kluiverth joined Alianza Lima in 2019 after impressing at the U17 South American Championship with the defender making his league debut on November 2 against Alianza Universidad.
The Peruvian side is known for selling some of the best talents before after shipping Jefferson Farfan to PSV, Claudio Pizarro to Werder Bremen and André Carrillo to Sporting CP.
