Wolverhampton Wanderers ambitions of qualifying for European competition could be left in the air if the Premier League season is not resumed, Express & Star report.
UEFA have advised that places will be decided on merit in next season's competitions should the league be cancelled entirely due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Wolves are currently sixth on the Premier League standings but they might just drop to seventh if merit will be used based on points per game.
Nuno Espirito Santo's side finished seventh last season which inspired them to qualify for the Europa League where they are currently in the Round of 16 and they could qualify for the Champions League if they win the Europa League title.
European football's governing body is set to release guidelines on how to deal with cases where it can happen that the leagues are not concluded but it is believed Uefa's advises is that competitions are completed.
