Algerian international Sofiane Feghouli has said that he wants to stay at Turkish side Galatasaray for one more season.
The Algerian star had been linked with a move away from the Turkish champions and rumours have pointed to a move to Gulf countries.
Galatasaray have been experiencing financial problems and they are planning to sell some of their big names to raise funds. With Turkish league halted due to the coronavirus pandemic, the cash flow problems have deepened.
In an interview with Turkish publication Fanatik, Feghouli said that he is happy in Turkey and wants to see out his contract that has two more years left.
“When I arrived at Galatasaray, I signed for five years and I still have 2 years of contract with the team. I love my club. I identify with Galatasaray. I get along very well with people in Turkey. I am happy and I am not planning," he said.
The former Valencia attacker added that he wants to continue playing with Galatasaray despite the off pitch troubles.
“I have always paid attention to showing professionalism on and off the pitch. I try to give my best and be a good leader for my teammates in difficult times. I hope that I will be among the players who will fight for the colours of this team next season. "
