Football Kenya Federation boss Nick Mwendwa has been grilled by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
According to reports, the Federation boss was the DCI headquarters on Thursday morning to answer questions over misappropriation of funds.
The questions come after it is reported that he was reported to the DCI by the Ministry of Sports who feels that the Kariobangi Sharks chairman and his office misappropriated a sum of KES 244M given to them by the government of Kenya to help them in their preparations for the 2019 African Cup of Nations.
Further reports from The Nation Media indicates that Mwendwa was excepted to answer on questions over an Sh4 million invoice the federation reportedly sent to the Ministry of Sports in the run-up to Harambee Stars 2021 Africa Nations Cup qualification match against Egypt in Alexandria last November.
Mwendwa is seeking another term in the forthcoming football elections that have been suspended for the second term.
Apart from Mwendwa, the other parties who have shown interest in the seat are former boss Sam Nyamweya and former CECAFA Secretary General Nicholas Musonye.
