Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund have confirmed midfielder Mario Gotze will leave the club this summer.
Earlier in the month, Gotze had confirmed he will leave Dortmund at the end of the current season as he seeks a new challenge. Sporting director Michael Zorc said in a press conference prior to Dortmund's Bundesliga clash against Wolfsburg on Saturday: "We will part ways with Mario Götze this summer. It was a mutual and respectful decision. Mario is a great man."
The 27-year-old's current contract expires in June. A product of Dortmund's academy, World Cup winner Gotze has scored 45 goals in 218 games during two spells with the club (2009-2013 & 2016-present).
