Harambee Stars defender Eric Ouma will undergo surgery on Saturday after picking up an injury on Friday.
Ouma’s club AIK confirmed that the player was injured in their Friday session and is expected to be out for a period of six to eight weeks.
In a statement, AIK said: “During Friday's training at Karlberg, Erick Otieno was injured and he will be taken for operation on Saturday which is expected to keep him out of play for about 6-8 weeks according to the first reports.”
The defender in a separate interview with Futaa exuded confidence that he will be back stronger after the latest setback having suffered an injury during his time in Albania while in the books of KF Tirana.
“It’s a blow definitely because I have been eager to play but it (injury) is part of a footballer’s life. Mine now is to follow the instructions given by the doctors and I know I will be back stronger.”
Ouma joined AIK in November 2019 from Swedish side Vasalund IF but is yet to feature for the club in any competitive game.
