Manchester United Defender Timothy Fosu Mensah has changed agents after it was confirmed that he has joined Base Agency.
Mensah has been represented by agent Jonathan Barnett (the man who represents the likes of Luke Shaw, Ashley Cole, Joe Hart and Gareth Bale) since 2016 but the player looks to have changed representatives.
In a tweet on Wednesday, Base Agency noted: “We’re excited to welcome Manchester United defender and Dutch international, @tfosumensah, to Base Soccer!”
Fosu-Mensah, who was handed his United debut by Louis van Gaal in February, has found games hard to come by and his progress hasn’t been helped by a series of injuries.
United plucked Fosu-Mensah from the Ajax academy in 2014 when he was just 16 years of age but he rose through the club ranks.
In a bid to make him ready for first-team action, the defender was first loaned out to Crystal Palace in the 2017/18 season before another loan deal to Fulham FC followed in the 2018/19 season although it was cut short by an injury.
The player made his first senior appearance for the Netherlands National team on 31 August 2017, when he was named in the starting line-up against France in a 4–0 defeat.
