Tanzania's Azam FC and Zambia's Green Eagles are engaged in a bidding war to land the signature of highly-rated Ugandan defender Filbert Obenchan.
Uganda's Football256.com reports that the two clubs have been monitoring the KCCA defender since July 2019 after a successful CECAFA Kagame Cup outing in Rwanda.
The 23-year-old's contract at KCCA runs out at the end of the month and is stalling at renewing his stay in Kampala as he weighs his options.
The towering defender joined KCCA Soccer Academy in 2015 from Masaka and later spent the 2016/17 season on loan at Simba FC. He made his debut for the KCCa senior side in 2017 and has since won the Uganda Premier League title twice, one Uganda Cup, one Pilsner super title and one CECAFA Kagame Club Cup.
