Turkish Super Lig side Kayserispor could potentially face a transfer ban from FIFA after they failed to pay midfielder Bernard Mensah's transfer fee from Atletico Madrid.
Kayserispor are feeling the pressure of time to pay the 3.6 million euros owed to Atletico Madrid after the Turkish side signed him on a permanent basis.
"Atlético complained to FIFA because we couldn't make the Mensah transfer payment. The Spanish club requested a three-window ban and FIFA decided that Atletico are absolutely right," Berna Gozbasi told 'TV1'.
"We request an improvement in the payment of both the player and the Spanish club. We ask for a discount and ease of payment. It is being negotiated. I hope we will get along somehow. Otherwise, we will receive a sanction."
Mensah has scored three goals while providing eight assists from 21 appearances across all competitions this season.
