Fourth-tier Saarbrucken's German Cup fairy tale came to an end as they were well beaten by Bayer Leverkusen last night in the DFB Pokal semi-final.
The hosts, who had not played in three months, looked off the pace in the 3-0 loss.
They first trailed to Moussa Diaby's volley, before Lucas Alario doubled the lead in the 19th minute after confusion at the mouth of the Saarbrucken goal.
Karim Bellarabi then scored the last goal of the game in the 58th minute with a well-hit ball into the roof of the net, to sink any hopes of a comeback for the hosts.
Leverkusen will face Bayern Munich or Eintracht Frankfurt - who meet tonight - in the Berlin final on 4 July.
