Kenyan female football team Harambee Starlets has been placed 137th globally in the latest FIFA Rankings.
In a statement, FIFA says that there have been no changes from last month’s rankings with no international matches played since the last edition.
Nigeria who is placed 38th globally tops the African continent with the USA sitting at the top of everyone.
“Following the COVID-19 pandemic, which has temporarily paralysed the world of football, no international women's matches have been played in recent months. And just as in the FIFA/Coca-Cola Men’s World Ranking, there are no changes in June’s edition of the FIFA/Coca-Cola Women's World Ranking,” a statement from FIFA website noted.
Kenyan neighbours Tanzania is placed 139th, Rwanda (144), Uganda (146) with Ethiopia being the highest rank team in the CECAFA region where they find themselves placed 111th on the log.
Apart from Nigeria, Cameroon, South Africa, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea, Tunisia, Morocco and Mali completes the best ten positions in Africa.
Germany and France occupy the second and third position respectively with the Netherlands, Sweden, England and Australia. Brazil, Canada and Korea DPR completing the top 10.
The next edition of the rankings will be published on 14 August 2020.
