Former Harambee Stars defender and captain Musa Otieno has tested positive for coronavirus.
According to one of Musa’s friends, Otieno had a positive test on Sunday and has since been admitted in a City hospital.
“Please join me in prayer my dear friend Musa Otieno Ongao. He has the coronavirus and has been admitted to hospital,” Kris Humphrey Kaufman said in a post accompanied by Otieno’s picture in an unnamed hospital.
Musa’s philanthropy through his Kick-Off to Hope Academy has seen him mingling with residents around the Nairobi City owing to his deed of cushioning vulnerable families during the Covid-19 period.
Over 600 families in Nairobi's Maringo Estate have benefited from his project with the former Harambee Stars coach having been involved in other charity events outside Nairobi before the Covid break.
During his playing days, Otieno featured for AFC Leopards and Tusker FC in Kenya but moved to South Africa in 2011 where he featured for Santos Fc in the South African Premier Soccer League.
He has been an assistant coach to Harambee Stars under Bobby Williamson and Stanley Okumbi.
