Bayern Munich apologizes to Man City after Leroy Sane's signing photos 'leak' before official announcement

Bayern Munich have apologized to Manchester City following the publishing of Leroy Sane's signing before the official transfer was announced.

The German winger refused to extend his stay with the Manchester club, forcing them into a £54.8m deal with the German champions.

The deal had not been made official by either clubs, despite reaching an agreement on Tuesday night.

Photos of the player signing a contract while in a Bayern shirt, however, surfaced on Thursday night, confirming the player's move to the Allianz Arena.

The pictures were first published on the Bayern Munich Arabic website before they were quickly pulled down in a glaring error.

Sane will more than double the £170k-a-week salary City were willing to give, as he is expected to pocket a cool £385k-a-week at Bayern Munich.

The 24-year-old has played just once this season, an 11-minute cameo as Manchester City routed Burnley 5-0 last week.

He scored 39 goals in 135 appearances in all competitions for City since joining from Schalke for £37m in 2016.
