SuperSport United CEO Stan Matthews has revealed the club’s targets for replacing Dean Furman, with Thabang Monare entering before quickly moving out of the picture.
With SuperSported having only academy graduates in the central midfield role that has been left open by Furman, the club has begun looking around the league for experienced pros.
"When we enquired about the player Monare from Bidvest Wits, we were informed that the player had an interest in playing for Kaizer Chiefs," Matthews told KickOff.
"And who can blame him for that if it's true? It was only an enquiry and it never went further than that.
But with Chiefs likely to fail in getting their two-year transfer ban from FIFA suspended for the current window, Monare may then be forced to consider places like Matsatsantsa a Pitori.
"Depends on the terms but he is a good player and we would be interested in boosting our midfield," added Matthews.
