Arsenal willing to triple Atletico Madrid's Thomas Partey's wages to fend off competition

Arsenal are reportedly looking to triple Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey's wages according to reports from Diario AS.

The report revealed that Arsenal are willing to offer a wage increase in order to entice him further as Napoli have officially joined the race to acquire his services.

The Serie A side are eying Partey as a potential replacement for Allan while they could offer Polish striker Arkadiusz Milik in a swap deal as they are set to sign Victor Osimhen.

However, that could prove difficult as Atletico remain firm on the release clause of €50 million (£45m) for Partey's signature but it's not too far off as Milik is valued at €40 million (£36m).

The Guardian previously reported that Partey is currently on £65,000-a-week at Atletico and if he makes the move to Arsenal, he will see himself on £195,000-a-week.

It is yet to be seen what will be of the Ghana international's future in the summer.
