West Brom joins the race for Jesse Lingard's signature

Championship side West Bromwich Albion has joined the race for Manchester United misfit Jesse Lingard.

The Independent reported last week that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is ready to listen to offers for the Englishman as they seek to bring new players.

After being linked with a move to Leicester and West Ham, reports from Team Talk now indicate that West Brom will be interested in the player if they can make it to the Premier League; the Sven Bilic side currently sitting top of the English Championship.

The 27-year-old has also been linked with a move to Everton and Newcastle with the player potentially chasing regular first-team football ahead of next year’s Euros.

In-form strike trio Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood have made it impossible to secure an attacking berth. While, the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba and Juan Mata are all preferred as No.10s.

Lingard who is currently under contract at Old Trafford until the summer of 2021 has not started a Premier League game since New Year’s Day, with his last United appearance coming in the FA Cup last month.

In the 20 appearances, he has made this season he has failed to score a goal or register an assist.
