Harambee Stars midfielder Francis Kahata is officially a champion in Tanzania after Simba SC were handed the Tanzania Premier League trophy on Wednesday.
The occasion happened after their scoreless draw against Namungo with Kahata featuring in the game; the crowning moment ensuring that they will represent the nation in the next season’s CAF Champions League.
Still in Tanzania, it was another 90 minutes for Faruk Shikhalo as Yanga SC emerged 1-0 winners over Kagera Sugar. The win sees Yanga placed third on the log with 54 points and they will hope they can dislodge Azam FC, who are just a point above them, before the end of the season.
Another Kenyan in coach Francis Baraza led Biashara United to a goalless draw against Ruvu Shooting. Biashara is at ninth position with 46 points this coming after Baraza had picked the team when they were in the relegation zone.
