Gabriel Jesus has set a Premier League record that no other Brazilian has recorded in the English top flight.
Jesus scored City’s second goal in their 5-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday night to give his side a commanding 2-0 lead at the break.
By scoring the goal, the striker became the first Brazilian to score 20+ goals in all competitions in successive seasons for a Premier League club.
In this season, Jesus has bagged 12 league goals for City after 31 appearances with 13 being as a substitute. It is a better tally than last season where he bagged seven goals and one less than the 13 goal tally he recorded in the 2017/18 season.
The result confirmed Pep Guardiola’s as the runners-up in the Premier League in a season that they fell far behind against Liverpool in the title race.
