Kenyan attacker Handawalla Bwana was on the scoresheet on Tuesday night but it did less in preventing Seattle Sounders lose 2-1 to Chicago Fire in the Major League Soccer.
After a goalless first half in the game staged at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, Chicago took a 52nd-minute lead through Beric but Bwana who had come on in the 58th minute for Ibarra equalized in the 77th minute. Chicago scored what proved to be the winner six minutes from time from Pineda after an assist from Gimenez.
The win sees Sounders remain third in their group that has Chicago, SJ Earthquakes and Vancouver Whites.
In the English Championship, Ayub Timbe managed 18 minutes as Reading fell 2-1 to Middleborough on Tuesday.
Timbe had been excluded from the squad in the last two games but came on for Olise in the 72nd minute just after his team had come from a goal down to take the lead through Fletcher and Roberts.
The win saw Reading rise to 14th on the log with 56 points and Timbe will hope that he can get more playing minutes when his side take on Blackburn Rovers in their next game.
