Uganda international David Owori is on the verge of completing his move from SC Villa to URA Fc on a three-year contract.
Owori will make the move on a free transfer after his contract at the 16-time Uganda Premier League champions expired in June. The midfield maestro rejected several contract offers from Jogoo before deciding to join the Tax Collectors.
The versatile midfielder made 23 league appearances for Villa last season and also found the back of the net thrice.
He also provided four assists as he helped lift Villa from relegation strugglers to title challengers as they finished third, six points ahead of URA who finished fifth.
Owori, who has spent three years at Jogoo, becomes URA’s first signing of the transfer window, with the club, understood to be close to completing a deal with Police FC left-back Arafat Galiwango.
