The CAF Disciplinary Board on Tuesday announced disciplinary measures against Congolese side TP Mazembe and their Moroccan counterparts Raja Casablanca following their ill-tempered Champions League quarterfinal match in March.
The two clubs were involved in ugly scenes in the reverse fixture of the quarterfinal in Lubumbashi, with Raja players and officials engaging with physical confrontations with Mazembe fans.
Raja eliminated Mazembe 2-1 on aggregate despite losing 1-0 in Lubumbashi.
The Moroccan club was slapped with $10,000 fine for failing to control their players who incited Mazembe fans. At the same time, Raja striker Iliash Haddad saw his provisional suspension lifted after he was involved in the ugly altercations.
Mazembe were also fined $10,000 for failing to provide adequate security during the match, resulting in the ugly scenes involving fans and players.
