Borussia Dortmund will have to wait a little longer for captain Marco Reus to return after he suffered yet another injury setback.
According to the club, Reus suffered an inflammation of the tendon on his already injured adductor muscle, and it's not clear when he will be able to make his return to action.
"Reus has worked hard and made progress in recent months, but he still has problems with certain movements. A conservative therapeutic approach is being used to treat the injury," read part fo the statement from the club.
The German international has missed a huge chunk of the season after picking up a groin injury in February and was initially expected to return for the pre-season.
The new Bundesliga season starts on September 18, and the club will hope to have the midfielder back by then.
They finished second behind Bayern Munich in the 2019/20 season, as the Bavarians won their eighth successive title.
Dortmund last won the Bundesliga title in 2012 under then-coach Juergen Klopp.
