Cristiano Ronaldo to miss Juventus' final Serie A game against Roma

Cristiano Ronaldo will be on the sidelines ahead of Juventus' final Serie A fixture against Roma on Saturday night in a bid to rest ahead of the Champions League Round of 16 second-leg.

Ronaldo was not in the matchday squad for the game in turn, with Paulo Dybala also missing in action due to a thigh injury.

Juventus have won their ninth-in-a-row Serie A title and their focus will now be turning their 1-0 first-leg deficit as they host Lyon on Friday, August 7.

Roma have secured a fifth-place finish this season and have qualified for the Europa League next season.

Ronaldo has scored 31 league goals this season but Lazio's Ciro Immobile has overtaken him with 35; a possible 36 if he scores for his side against Napoli.
