After escaping relegation on the final day of the season, Aston Villa is considering luring Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho to Villa Park.
Iheanacho has been a backup player for Leicester City most of his career and is said to be looking for a team where he can get more playing time.
UK tabloids report that Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers wants to reunite with Celtic FC star Odsonne Édouard and they are expected to make a move for the player.
Édouard’s consistency in front of goal has seen him get linked with a number of Premier League teams and he is expected to leave in the summer with Celtic set to hold out for the £40m valuation on the player.
A move for Edouard will render Iheanancho surplus to requirements with the Nigerian having failed to nail down a starting spot with the Foxes since his £25m move from Manchester City in 2017.
Dean Smith’s side shelled out £22m for Brazil forward Wesley last summer, but the former Brugge frontman managed just five goals and one assist in 21 league appearances.
Despite his role majorly from the bench, the Nigerian striker has netted 10 goals in 26 appearances in 2019/20 with Newcastle United said to be the other team interested in his services.
