Manchester City centre-back Eric Garcia linked with move back to boyhood club Barcelona

Barcelona are reportedly targetting Manchester City defender Eric Garcia as they prepare a bid to entice the teenager back to the club.

According to Goal, Barcelona have been monitoring Garcia for a while as they look to find a new centre back in their bid to bolster their squad.

Garcia joined Manchester City at the age of 17 following his move from Barcelona where he spent nine years, however, the youngster only made his official debut in September 2019 when City served Watford an 8-0 beating on the day.

The youngster has since made a total of 72 appearances for The Citizens, registering six goals and two assists.

Pep Guardiola recently commented of Barcelona's interest in Garcia: “I don’t have any updates. He has one more year on his contract, if Barcelona want him to, they must call him.

"We are going to try to convince him to stay here for many, many, many years. I am confident he will stay, but in the end, it is his decision. He knows we want him, but it was the same with Leroy.”
