Former Bayer Leverkusen ace Roberto Hilbert has hailed Chelsea target Kai Havertz, saying he can easily turn the Blues into Premier League champions.
The young midfielder has been linked with a move to the Premier League this season, with Chelsea leading the race for his signature.
Hilbert has further said the lanky playmaker is part Michael Ballack, part Mesut Ozil, and can hit the highest levels at the London club.
"He is the next big, big player to come from Germany," Hilbert said of Havertz during an interview with Goal.
"I was there when he made his debut in our team at 17. In this generation, I think he will be a game-changer. He is a really smart player, quick and he is a nice person.
"He has some things Ballack had, some things Ozil had but he puts it into one package which is what makes him so dangerous.
Kai Havertz has now scored 18 goals across all competitions this season, no player in the Chelsea squad managed more in the 2019-20 season. 😉 pic.twitter.com/c5Sdy8HtAy— Squawka Football (@Squawka) August 10, 2020
“I think he has a level of talent that nobody else has. When Chelsea sign him for the next years then I think it will be a great chance to help them win titles in the Premier League.
"That’s how good he is. He worked hard, but he is a smart and humble person. That comes from his good family unit and he will continue to work hard and improve every day."
The youngster's move could pick pace this week if the German side loses their Europa League quarter-final match against Inter Milan.
If he signs for the Frank Lampard-led side, he will become the third big-name arrival, following the signing of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner.
