Borussia Dortmund players were delighted after the club's Sporting Director Michael Zorc confirmed Jadon Sancho will be staying with the Bundesliga side next season.
Axel Witsel was one of the players to admit Dortmund were given a massive boost after the club insisted Sancho would not be sold to Manchester United this summer. The England international was heavily linked with a move to the Red Devils and the Premier League club was given a self-imposed transfer of Monday 10th August to complete negotiations, failure to which the deal will break.
Here is what players had to say;
Emre Can on Jadon Sancho: "I'm personally very happy that Jadon is staying. For me, he is already a world-class player. He's very, very important to the team. I hope he will continue to score many goals and help us as a team to win as many games as possible."
Haaland on Jadon Sancho: "Jadon is a fantastic player, so I'm very happy that he is staying. I'm sure he'll give me a couple of goals - but I'll give him some too."
Witsel on Jadon Sancho: "We only found out when Michael Zorc announced it. Of course we are all happy. We can only be glad that he will stay because he is one of our most important players in attack."
Thomas Delaney: "With Jadon staying, our options are greater. He’s one of the best players in the Bundesliga. He’s still very young and I don’t know if he might get any better. But I also expect a lot from him in the next season. He’s just extraordinarily talented."
Dortmund have been holding out for £108million if they are to sanction the sale of the former Manchester City man, who has grown into one of the best players in Europe.
