FC Barcelona will not forgive midfielder Arthur Melo despite returning to the club’s training base as a gesture of goodwill.
The 23-year-old had vowed to return to the club from his mini-vacation in Brazil and in a statement, Barca said there will be a meeting between the club and the player’s representatives to solve the issue.
The Brazilian was transferred to Juventus in an operation that brought Miralem Pjanic to the Camp Nou and the player to Barcelona last Friday after speaking with club sporting director Eric Abidal.
“The player cannot be part of any activity with the first team until his disciplinary file is resolved,” Barca said in a statement.
Arthur is not likely to join Barcelona in their trip to Lisbon before the Champions League quarterfinals against Bayern Münich with Quique Setién expected to rely on Busquets, Vidal, De Jong, Rakitic, Roberto, and Riqui Puig in the midfield.
After arriving at the club on Friday, the player met with Abidal and cheered on his teammates at Camp Nou against Napoli this is because he was not on UEFA’s player list after missing the PCR tests.
There has been bad blood between the player and the club something that has seen him his transfer only feature for 5 minutes for Barcelona.
