Gor Mahia striker Juma Balinya is set to join Tanzania side Azam FC after his agent revealed that they had already begun talks.
Speaking to Football256, the players’ agent said that Azam was just one team interested in the player after the striker was linked with a move to South Africa before the coronavirus pandemic.
"Yes, we have talked to a number of clubs in these past weeks including Azam. I can’t go into details right now, but one thing I can say, he wants to play in Tanzania once again," he said.
The 28-year-old has not made the impact the club fans hoped for when he joined from Yanga SC this coming after he had won the Ugandan Premier League golden boot in the 2018/19 season with 19 goals while playing for Police FC.
The striker had been linked with to South African side Polokwane City and Ethiopian Giants Saint George previously.
Balinya isn’t the only player who wants out at Gor Mahia with the club set to lose defender Joash Onyango to Simba SC. Already goalkeeper David Mapigano has joined Azam FC with captain Kenneth Muguna set for a move too.
Boniface Omondi has left for Wazito FC same as goalkeeper Fredrick Onyango who has parted ways with the club. The other player who left the club is winger Dickson Ambundo whose loan deal wasn’t renewed.
